Authoring "The Edgy Report"

Dr. Charlotte Laws will be writing a new column titled "The Edgy Report," which will examine political, philosophical and social issues from a unconventional angle.  This is because Laws is unconventional herself, with decidedly radical opinions and adventures to tell. 

A former debutante from the preppy side of Atlanta, Laws gave up the money–rejecting her father's $500,000 bribe to stay put—and fled to Southern California with $500 stuffed inside her loafers. She disposed of those drab loafers, donned a glitzy beaded gown and high heels, and immersed herself in the entertainment industry as an actress, model, and even as a backup singer for an Elvis imitator.

Her immediate success prompted her to write a book about show biz, which was followed by a national book tour and dozens of television interviews. She appeared on Larry King Live, Oprah Winfrey, The Late Show, and Fox News, to name a few.

From entertainment she went on to become what one might call "occupationally diversified," working as a private investigator, cab driver, nurse, Rodeo Drive fashion designer, and antiques shop owner. Today she is an elected member of the Greater Valley Glen Council, the president of an animal/environmental organization, and a Realtor with Prudential in Studio City. She has completed two books, which will be released later this year.

Laws earned a Ph.D. from USC in Social Ethics in 2000 and holds two Master's Degrees and two BA Degrees. She hopes you will enjoy her column and not be shy about communicating.
