Scott asked DAWS in attendance to support the event and noted that last
year's event resulted in the adoptions of one hundred animals.

2. DAW President Charlotte Laws distributed copies of the DAW Bylaws
that had been approved by the DAW Bylaws Committee at its meeting on
Oct. 22.

There was a brief discussion during which DAW Secretary George Shea
questioned various points in the Bylaws, among them, the possibility of
establishing a quorum or minimum acceptable number by DAWS voting on
issues, also the establishment of formal criteria for the appointment of new
DAWS as well as some statement re the actual functions of the Executive
Committee.

It was decided that these and other questions and issues could be discussed
at future DAWS meetings as provisions exist for mending the Bylaws.

A motion for approval of the Bylaws was submitted by Pres. Laws. It was
seconded and passed unanimously by the DAWS in attendance.

3. Venice DAW Sara Mannes spoke of upcoming event, a spay & neuter
demonstration taking place in downtown Los Angeles near the flower
market Dec. 14 & Dec. 15.  The event is being sponsored by the Voice
for Animals, the Amanda Foundation, and Downtown Dog Rescue. Volunteers
are needed.

4. Attention was also called to the fact that tenants of the 800 unit Lincoln
Park Apartments, many of them pet guardians, are facing evictions. There
is a need for both fosters and adoptions.

5. Anthony Marr, a visiting author and animal rights activist from British
Columbia addressed the meeting, presenting a lecture on the subject of
Omni-Science and the Human Destiny. The following (from Mr. Marr's website:
www.Omni-Science.org) summarizes Mr. Marr's basic theory and key points. His
book, Omni-Science and the Human Destiny is available for purchase from
Amazon.com.

"Creationism seems to gain in power with every passing year. Our chief weapon
has been the Theory of Evolution, which indeed is powerful and true, but when we pit
Evolution against Creationism, We put ourselves at a deep disadvantage, because false as
Creationism is, it is nonetheless a complete cosmology, providing answers,
false as they are, to the great philosophical questions, whereas Evolution, true as it is, is
not a cosmology unto itself. And scientific cosmology, as we know it, does not yet touch
upon life and society, and cannot provide full answers to the great philosophical
question either. The Omniscientific Cosmology, on the other hand, with physics, astronomy
and chemistry as foundation and biology, ecology and sociology as edifice, embraces
Evolution as an integral part, as well as other biological and social theories, thus capable
of and indeed providing new and rational answers to the ancient philosophical questions.
And with these answers, we can chart our course to our optimal destiny."

Omniscientific Cosmology has been described as  "a new and ground-breaking model of the
universe  that embraces all the sciences - physical, biological and sociological."

It is Mr. Marr's belief that, as human and animal species evolve together, solutions will be
found to the problems of nuclear war, global warming, and other human and environmental
crises threatening our planet in the 21st century.

After a brief question and answer period between Mr. Marr and the DAWS in attendance , the
meeting was adjourned. No new meeting date has been announced.
