Instead of having businesses working for LA’s tax system, we now have a tax system working for LA’s businesses.

With the passage of the Greuel-Garcetti Business Tax Reform Package, a cumbersome, archaic business tax system was turned into one that is simple, equitable and makes Los Angeles competitive with neighboring cities. 

Los Angeles now has a tax system that works to attract business to Los Angeles and creates jobs for our families.

The tax reform package:

• Elminates taxes for 60% of current ratepayers
• Eliminates taxes on "bad debts"
• Gives businesses the option of paying on a cash or accrual basis
• Simplifies the system by reducing the number of tax categories 
• Combats runaway production with tax incentives for the film and media industry 
• and gives a 15% across the board tax cut for all businesses

Simply put, the Greuel-Garcetti tax reform package changes the way we do business at City Hall.
